The simple version
Terms & Conditions
Plain English, no small print games. This is how Gary works so everyone knows where they stand before a job starts.
Who we are
Handyman Gary is a friendly local handyman covering Warrington, Knutsford, Stockton Heath, Latchford and the surrounding areas. No job too small.
What Gary does and doesn't do
Gary does practical small jobs around the home: flat-pack assembly, painting and decorating, shelves, mirrors and curtain poles, minor repairs, door and gate repairs, silicone and sealant, small garden jobs and general odd jobs.
Gary does not do electrical work, gas work, roofing, structural work, or any job that needs certification. If a job needs one of those, he'll say so and point you in the right direction.
Prices
- Prices are for Gary's labour only. Any parts or materials are charged on top (see Parts below).
- There is no VAT to add. The price you're given is the price.
- The minimum charge for a visit is £45.
- Many common jobs have a set, fixed price, shown on the Fixed Price Jobs page. Anything not listed, Gary is happy to quote for.
- The final price is always confirmed before any work starts.
Quotes
Where a price is agreed, Gary (or his booking helper) will send it to you in writing by WhatsApp or email, whichever you prefer. A quote includes the job, the price, what's included, and is valid for 30 days. A quote becomes a booking once you reply to confirm it.
Parts and materials
- Low-cost bits (a few fixings, a tube of sealant and the like) just go on the final bill.
- For bigger materials, you can either supply them yourself to Gary's spec, or Gary will buy them and you pay him for them at cost, before the job starts. Gary doesn't add anything on top of parts; it just means he isn't left out of pocket buying materials for someone else's job.
- If a job you've already paid parts for doesn't go ahead, those parts are yours to keep.
If a job turns out bigger than expected
Fixed prices assume a straightforward job, where the things the work depends on are already in place and in good order. For example, an outside tap at the fixed price assumes there's suitable pipework nearby inside; if a long new pipe run is needed, that's extra work. If Gary gets there and finds something bigger or hidden, he'll stop, explain it, and give you a fresh price in writing, and only carry on once you're happy. Your original quote is never quietly increased.
Half-day and full-day jobs
For a longer list, a half day or full day is usually best value. Give Gary your list and he'll work through as much as he reasonably can in the booked time. He'll be straight with you about what fits and what doesn't before he starts, so nothing is promised that can't be done in the time unless he's confirmed it.
Payment
Payment for labour is due on completion of the work. Bigger parts (where agreed) are paid for before the job starts, as above. For now Gary takes cash or bank transfer; card may be added later.
Booking, access and cancellations
Please give Gary reasonable notice if you need to change or cancel a booking, so the slot can go to someone else. Gary needs safe access to the work and somewhere to work. If he can't get in or no one is there at the agreed time, the minimum visit charge may apply.
If something isn't right
Gary takes care and wants you happy with the work. If anything isn't right, get in touch as soon as you can and he'll put it right. This doesn't cover pre-existing faults or normal wear and tear unrelated to the work done.
Questions or a problem
Just message Gary on WhatsApp or call 07767 392279 and he'll sort it.
